Ship Builder's Kit
Although Inner Space comes with a basic Factory, it's still hard to make really good ships for the game and share them with others. If you want to design custom ships, the Ship Builder's Kit is the way to get great-looking results really fast. The Ship Builder's Kit is also necessary to share your unique ships with others or to import other people's ships into the game. Here's what you get: Detailed Online Instructions Designing, drawing and adding a ship to the game is a bit tricky, so the vastly improved online help takes you step by step through the ship design process and gives you hints to get the best results. Also, you can greatly improve the look of your ship if you know how Inner Space loads and renders it for game play. So the first element of the Ship Builder's Kit is extremely detailed online help explaining everything about ship drawing, loading and how the game renders what you've created. A More Helpful Factory Another thing we found is that the Factory should give better guidance and error messages. With the old Factory, if the ship you drew was invalid, the Factory would crash or the ship simply wouldn't load. You'd have no idea what you did wrong. So we put an improved and more helpful Factory into the Ship Kit which makes it much easier to create new ships, as well as export and import user-created ships. Get Free Ships for The Game and Share Ships With Others One of the fun things about playing Inner Space is adding your own unique ships to the game,. It's a lot more fun when you also share your unique ships with others and add other users' ships to your game, too. The Enhanced Factory that comes in the Ship Builder's Kit allows you to easily export your ships to send to others as well as import ships create by other users. We have an ever-growing list of user-created ships that you can download from our Ship Gallery and use with the game for free, but you need the Ship Builder's Kit to add these ships to your copy of the game. The Original Bitmaps for Every Ship in Inner Space The last and most useful part of the Ship Builder's Kit is the set of original bitmaps for every ship in the game. By giving you the source images for all the ships, you not only can see how to make great ships, you can use them as a starting point for your own unique creations. Starting from scratch, most users only use the basic Windows colors to draw their ship, giving you only 2 greens, 2 reds, 2 grays etc.. By using our original ship bitmaps as a starting point, you can have 10 colors for the main body and another 5 colors for your ship's trim. It allows you to make beautiful looking ships for Inner Space with smooth color gradations that can then be recolored easily in the Ship Factory.
